First Berg´s Dredge (Sea Cucumber dredge) Ready for Testing

24 February 2018

We now have our first sea cucumber dredge built from scaled blueprints. The design is built on previous development with a few more implementations such as rubber sleeve on the mouth piece and a sensor bracket. The dredge was given the name Berg´s dredge in honor of our captain Bergur Garðarsson who has been the leading captain in the development in the fishing of sea cucumber around Iceland since the start of fishing in 2003. The dredge will now bee tested on fishing along side of the other dredges our ship Klettur has been operating with and later this summer a comparison test between the traditional ski dredges and Berg´s dredge will be conducted with the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.
